What Is Your Backup Plan in Case You Can’t Make It?

Life is unpredictable. While it’s rare for a wedding photographer to miss an event, emergencies do happen. It’s essential to know what contingency plans they have in place.

Keep in mind "I've never had this problem so you don't have to worry about that" is NOT a suitable answer to this question!! No one is less prepared than the person who didn't expect the unexpected.

A professional photographer should have a clear answer to ensure that your day is still documented beautifully, even if they can’t be there. The last thing you want to worry about days or even hours before your wedding is having to find a replacement photographer.

Q Number Two

Do You Have Insurance?

We all know your wedding photographer can (and should) be one of the biggest investments you make toward your big day. So it’s crucial to ensure that your investment is protected.

Insurance can cover accidents, equipment failure, liability, etc... But most importantly, insurance covers errors and omissions!! Essentially this means any and all errors that may result in you not receiving what you were promised are completely covered and THEN some. Because if worst comes to worst, you shouldn't JUST receive a refund. You should be compensated for the trauma of having your wedding memories lost forever.

A professional photographer should be happy to provide proof of their coverage and reassure you that they take their business seriously.

How Do You Backup My Photos and Keep Them Safe?

Your wedding photos are irreplaceable... I mean really, absolutely nothing on earth could replace one of the biggest days of your life. So understanding how your photographer safeguards them is critical.

A reputable photographer should have a robust system in place, typically involving multiple backups in different locations and at different stages of whole process, starting with the day of.

You can also inquire about how long they keep these backups, as some photographers retain them for several years, while others may only keep them for a limited time. Understanding this will help ensure your memories are safe for the future.
